Preliminary Task

Evaluation

  1. Did you plan your magazine? If not, what have you learnt about the importance of research and planning?
    1. I didn’t plan my magazine. I think that planning and research is the main part to doing well in this task as I struggled with thinking of things to put in my magazine and what to feature in it. It I had research before I started this task I think I would have done batter and I would have been able to do it a bit faster.

  2. What technology did you use to complete the task and how did you use it?
    1. I used serif PagePlus X6 to create my magazine. This software gave me the key tools that I needed to make my magazine. It was rather easy to use and it doesn’t take very long to understand. I used a lot of the different tools such as; text, shapes, backgrounds, cut-out studio, and shading for the text. These all helped to me make my magazine look how it should.

  3. Did you encounter any difficulties? If so, what were they and how did you overcome them?
    1. I found that knowing what to put on my magazine was the hardest thing. I didn’t know what to include and where to put it. To overcome this I went onto google and looked up school magazines on images and gave myself inspiration. This helped as I could get an understanding of what really needed to be included in my magazine.

  4. How successful was your magazine? Please identify what worked well, and with hindsight, what would you improve/do differently?
    1. It think my magazine was quite successful as it has mostly all the things that a school magazine needs. If I were to do this differently I would have planned this task more before I started.

  5. What have you learnt from completing this task? Looking ahead, how will this learning be significant when completing the rest of your foundation coursework, do you think?
    1. I have learnt how to use Serif PagePlus X6 and this will be good for when I start my real coursework I will know exactly how to use the software and I will I will be able to advance in it as I go along. This will make me feel more confident when I start so I will be able to do well in my real coursework.
